The Outside Edition

Let’s face it, it has been a little tricky to get into nature this year.

Whilst we spend a lot of our time behind computers we figure it is the fieldwork aspect that is where we all often realise why we put the effort in to manage water and waterways. So here are some interesting sites our team would like to share.

So take a moment. Grab that coffee. Sit back, relax and scroll below to be taken on tour!

StreamTeam News

Farewell Jess

Jess Houghton started her environmental science career with Streamology three years ago, on a work experience placement with us whilst finishing her studies. Jess has been a huge asset to the team ever since and a pleasure to work with as many of you will know. Jess has been offered an amazing opportunity to study the bogs and Pygmy Possums in the North East Alpine Region and will be starting in the new year (she has promised an update we can send you!). While we are sad to see Jess go, we know that Jess will flourish in her new role and we know the alpine area is her prime habitat. Keep in touch!

Welcome Vincent

We are very excited to welcome Vincent Chea to the StreamTeam starting in the new year! Vincent brings with him not only an environmental science degree, in ecology and environmental management, but also a wealth of experience piloting drones and analysing spatial data being, as he calls it, ‘a data monkey’. Based out of the Melbourne office, we are looking forward to welcoming Vincent and his capabilities to what is fast becoming a leading edge monitoring and drone assessment team.

Could you be part of the StreamTeam?

Holiday time is the perfect opportunity to have a think about where you are at with your career. Streamology is always on the lookout for can-do passionate people to join out team. Particularly, we are looking for team leaders, experienced senior project managers, environmental scientists, geomorphologists and senior water(way) engineers to join our growing team. If this sounds like you, send us an email and we will give you a call (in confidence) to discuss further.

Competition time: What River is this?

Can you guess the river in the picture?

Be the first to email in with the correct answer and Streamology will again make a donation to the charity of your choice!

Spring Edition Winner…

The winner from the last competition was Leon Bren who was quick to respond with the Campaspe River! Great job Leon. Streamology has made a donation to Bush Heritage Australia on Leon’s behalf.

How can we help you?

Did you know that the StreamTeam loves solving problems? If you have a water or waterway problem that you need help with our team is keen to chat. Runoff in urban areas? Linking waterway values to catchment changes? River flows and monitoring? Australia’s biggest waterway geomorphology project? (actually, already on that one!). We also like to help in working out the questions. Send us an email and we will get the right person to give you a call to discuss.

From all at the StreamTeam we hoped you enjoyed our gift to you this edition and wish you a happy and safe holiday.

Looking forward to 2021,

The StreamTeam.
