Do you float above the pack?

Position Title: Senior Fluvial Geomorphologist - Lead Scientist

Position Type: Permanent

Salary Range: A salary range of $125,000-$150,000 applies commensurate with the skills and experience of the candidate.

Why Streamology?

Streamology is a small, niche environmental consulting company experiencing growth – the industry seems to appreciate what we are seeking to achieve. As a result, there’s always a lot to do. Things move fast, we can get overloaded and we need to work as a team to make the best decisions on a host of project and business-related challenges. You will not be a passenger, instead you will be integral to driving this success. We believe in doing things differently, challenging current paradigms, and daring greatly. We know that we will get some things wrong and we learn from these mistakes and look to the root cause of the issue, then try again with improvements. We are energised by continual innovation and working in an adult environment, placing the utmost responsibility and trust upon each of us at the individual level.

When it comes to fluvial geomorphology we are fortunate that Streamology gets to work on many of the more enduring projects that affect Australian waterways. Whether it be strategic management of physical form throughout Victoria, flood recovery or stormwater protection in urban settings, informing environmental flows and habitat creation in some of our healthiest rivers, or investigating challenges in Australia’s biggest river. At Streamology we seek to maintain this position as a leader in strategic management of physical form and functioning and, if you are the right person, we would welcome you as part of this.

 Why you?

You have the capability, passion, and enthusiasm to be integral to the waterway industry, drawing upon the wealth of skills and experience of the team at Streamology. You have technical skills to be a mentor and leader within the Streamology team: are able to consider problems at all scales, and can converse at all levels of water and waterway management. You can lead but also recognize the need to do some of the grunt work. You know the right end of a range of modelling tools and techniques. You see that Streamology’s approach is the reason why the company is becoming the leader in physical form management in waterway and catchment management projects. You think you can be an important part of this.
